It's probable that Twitter is putting voice and video calling capabilities on its site. To increase user engagement and facilitate better communication, numerous messaging and social networking apps have recently included audio and video calling features. Twitter has already debuted services like Spaces, which let users start and participate in real-time audio discussions.

It is crucial to remember that until they are verified by official sources, any claims about Twitter's future development or new features should be treated with skepticism.
It is true that Twitter has changed over time, adding new features to increase user engagement and enhance the overall user experience. Twitter has recently added tools that enable users to communicate momentary messages, take part in live audio chats, and monetise their material, such as Fleets, Spaces, and Super Follows.
The next improvements coming to the social network appear to be moving it closer to being the 'X' app as Twitter continues to develop under the direction of its new owner, Elon Musk.
Musk informed his followers on Twitter that voice and video chat capabilities will be added to direct messaging later this year, perhaps in a few months.
“If you’ve got a DM group and you want to turn that into a private Spaces audio chat or video chat, that you can do so,” said Musk. “I think it’ll be cool to be able to use your Twitter handle to have a conversation with someone else without having to give away your phone number,” added Musk. “So that seems like it could be pretty cool.”
Musk gave a single letter "X" in response to the audio clip of the news that DogeDesigner provided. This is a reference to Musk's eventual ambition of transforming Twitter into the 'X' app, an all-encompassing software that does everything, much like the well-known WeChat app in China, which not only enables conversation but also payments and other functions.
“If I think of, like, WeChat in China, which is actually a great, great app, but there’s no WeChat movement outside of China. And I think that there’s a real opportunity to create that. You basically live on WeChat in China because it’s so useful and so helpful to your daily life. And I think if we could achieve that, or even close to that with Twitter, it would be an immense success. Hopefully, that is — I really went on there. And I’m happy to elaborate on any of those points,” said Musk previously at a Twitter town hall.
Twitter as a business no longer exists after merging with X Corp. last month. X Holdings Corp., the parent firm, was founded in March and incorporated in Nevada. Twitter is already listed as being owned by X Corp. on Android, but Twitter, Inc. is still displayed on iOS.
According to Musk, Twitter will soon start deleting accounts that haven't been active in a while.
